Theresa Conroy,

Yoga Therapist
Certified Yoga Teacher
theresa@yogaontheridge.com
Theresa is a lifelong Roxborough resident who spent 27 years working as a Philadelphia journalist. In January 2007, she left her job covering criminal courts for the Philadelphia Daily News to teach yoga full-time.
Theresa became a yoga instructor because she was driven to share the benefits yoga has brought to her life. With the support of her yoga practice, Theresa quit smoking, shed 50 pounds and overcame an anxiety disorder.
In 2008, she deepened her knowledge of yoga by becoming a certified Yoga Therapist. In 2010, she became certified as a Core Strength Vinyasa teacher. In 2011, she trained to teach Adaptive Yoga for Disabilities, which includes instructing those who spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, cerebal palsy, stroke, MS, Parkinson's and other conditions.
Her teaching style fuses the power of Core Strength Vinyasa, and the spirit of Inner Fire Yoga with the awareness of Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy. The fusion of styles, combined with Theresa's knowledge of anatomy and movement, create a skillful, joyful, safe practice for everyone from the first-time student to the seasoned practitioner. When you come to one of Theresa's classes, you will experience a physical challenge in a safe environment. Whether it is your first class or your 901st, you will learn something new about yoga (and yourself), laugh, relax and leave feeling lighter and calmer.
Theresa is registered with the Yoga Alliance. She also is a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists and a certified Thai Yoga Bodywork practitioner. In 2010, she was named one of the Top 10 Yoga Instructors in the area by Philadelphia Magazine online.
She teaches group and private yoga classes in her studio, in corporate offices, in retirement centers, in schools and universities and in private homes. |
