WHAT CLASS SHOULD I TAKE IF. . .

I've never done yoga before? We recommend you first gain a foundation in yoga by attending our Yoga Basics class, where the practice and postures will be broken down and explained to you as you experience them. Other classes that are appropriate for first-time students are Yin Yoga and Yoga For Stress Relief.

I am recovering from an injury or surgery or illness? Try our Tonic Tuesday adaptive yoga class, geared specificially for those with restrictions, injuries or disease. Another good bet may be our gentle Yoga For Stress Relief class, or Yin Yoga. Please advise the teacher of your restrictions or injuries so we can help you move safely through your practice.

If I am fit and want to get a really good workout? Try attending one of our more vigorous classes, like our Tuesday night or Saturday morning Community Classes or our powerful Thursday night Vinyasa class.

If I need some special attention to work with a bad back or other health issue? Consider Tonic Tuesday or, perhaps, taking a private lesson or two to learn how you can modify a yoga class to fit your needs.

I used to do yoga years ago but haven't been in a studio in years? Drop in to our Yoga Basics class for a refresher, or attend our Sunday Vinyasa class, where the flow provides time for you to release into poses and experience the practice at a moderate pace.

I am overweight and out of shape? Yoga is for every body and every body type. Your instructor can help you modify the practice to meet your current fitness level. While you build strength and endurance, it may be best to start with one of our slower-paced classes, like Yoga Basics, Yin Yoga or Yoga For Stress Relief.

I have a special condition or restrictions that make movement or getting up and down from the floor challenging. You'll find Tonic Tuesday was designed just for you. You'll be in a small group for an adaptive, therapeutic class taught by a certified Yoga Therapist.

If you feel overwhelmed by all the new information from your very first yoga class, rest assured: after one or two more classes, the practice will feel more familiar to you and you will feel more at ease. Give yourself at least three or four classes before deciding whether yoga is right for you. And, PLEASE, stay after class or email us with any questions or concerns you have. It is our goal and pleasure to make your yoga experience with us enjoyable and valuable to your life.
